Moonstone is part of the mineral family of feldspars. It’s an opalescent stone that can be found in colorless form as well as peach, pink, green, gray, yellow, brown, and blue. The play of light seen in Moonstone is a phenomenon called adularescence, and its clarity ranges from transparent to opaque.
Moonstones can occur colorless, blue-white, white, and pale shades of apricot and peach. The rarest and most expensive moonstones will be colorless with a floating blue color or schiller that seems to hover above the stone.
